CLARK FREEPORT – Winning only by 27 votes in the 2019 elections, Mayor Romulo Pecson vows to do more to widen his winning margin against his opponent this time.
During the media forum “Balitaan” organized by the Capampangan in Media, Inc. (CAMI) in cooperation with the Clark Development Corp. at the Bale Balita here last Friday, Pecson said he has lowered the inclusion age for senior citizens to 65 years old and older that will entitle them to get a P1,000 monthly financial assistance from the municipal government.
He said as a senior citizen himself, he understands their need especially those that regularly buy maintenance medicines. But unfortunately, the sangguniang bayan won’t allow him, depriving thousands of Magaleno elders of the benefit.
In this regard, the mayor said he has started distributing maintenance medicine to senior citizens as well as medical missions.
He said at this time despite the pandemic, businessmen and investors are flocking to Magalang realizing the friendly business climate in the town. Pecson vows to keep his town safe and secure in order to maintain a business-friendly atmosphere.
Pecson is running for reelection under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas party with his running mate Councilor Koko P. Gonzales. He was accompanied by his municipal administrator Lyndon Cunanan during the media forum
Magalang is a first-class municipality with 27 barangays.
