ANGELES CITY – “Ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Angeles ay nagbibigay ng libreng bakuna, wala po itong bayad.”
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. today issued advisories in social media, in tarpaulins posted at the city’s vaccination sites, and carried by the mobile bus clinics that the vaccines for Covid-19 are administered by the city government for free.
The mayor said that vaccine forms are not for sale, and are only being given on site prior to the inoculation schedule via the Ronda Bakuna and Sundo Bakuna sa Barangay vaccination programs.
“Do not to entertain groups or individuals asking for payment for inoculations,” he warned.
Lazatin’s chief adviser IC Calaguas, also the chief implementer of the city government’s vaccination program, echoed this and reminded the public to immediately report any of these fraudulent activities in the city government’s hotline 09517570226.
“Ang sinumang mahuli, lumabag, o nanamantala sa publiko na humihingi ng kapalit, bayad, o anumang uri ay ipagbigay ito sa kapulisan, barangay, o tawagan ang hotline 09517570226,” the advisory states.
According to Calaguas, the city government “will not tolerate any unjust and undignified act of taking advantage of the Angeleños.”
To date, 127,258 Angeleños already received their first dose of vaccines while 73,384 are already fully vaccinated.
The vaccination is now directly house-to-house per barangay via schedule, while the on-site vaccination areas in the City College of Angeles and the Angeles City National High School are only available for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women.
Angeles City now has the highest number of inoculated individuals per day in Pampanga province at more than 4,000 daily vaccinations, according to the Department of Health Region III.
The city recorded the highest number of single-day vaccination at 7,874 last Aug. 20, surpassing 6,094 on August 11 and 6,017 on August 12.
