ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. expressed his gratitude to Senator Imee Marcos for her generous visit to Angeles City on November 29, 2024, where, despite celebrating her own birthday, prioritizing to give back to the community by providing aid to those in need.
“Senator Marcos has become a beloved partner of Angeles City, consistently delivering programs and aid that directly benefit Angeleños,” Mayor Lazatin shared during the event. “Even on her special day, she continues to prioritize the welfare of our citizens.”
In her previous visits, Sen. Marcos extended significant assistance through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program.
In November 2022, she allocated ₱3.2 million for over 1,000 beneficiaries, and in February 2024, another ₱4.3 million was distributed to 1,447 individuals in need.
The lady senator also provided ₱20 million for the renovation of the old Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC).
This year, Sen. Marcos’ birthday celebration was marked by the Zumbarangay 2024 program, bringing over 500 participants from 33 barangays together for Zumba sessions to promote health and wellness.
This nationwide initiative encourages fitness, community engagement, and an active lifestyle among Filipinos.
Simultaneously, Sen. Marcos also led the inauguration of the newly rebuilt Pampang Public Market, showing her all-out-support to Angeles City.
“Sen. Marcos has been instrumental in improving our public infrastructure and social programs,” Mayor Lazatin said.
As Mayor Lazatin concluded his speech, he emphasized the city’s warm hospitality to Sen. Marcos.
“Welcome na welcome po kayo sa Angeles City, Senator Marcos. Sa ngalan ng mga Angeleño, maraming salamat po sa inyong suporta, at maligayang kaarawan!”
Also present during the birthday visit of Sen. Marcos in Barangay Cutud are First District Rep. Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II, Angeles City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting and the City Councilors; Mabalacat City Vice Mayor Atty. Geld Aquino, Mabalacat City Councilor Jun Castro; Barangay Cutud Captain Jesusito Masbang and Council; Barangay Pulung Cacutud Captain Francisco Cura and Council; and Barangay Sapalibutad Captain Cristina Pineda and Council.
