ANGELES CITY – Alarmed that the dengue cases in the city have risen “beyond the epidemic threshold for four consecutive weeks,” Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II has convened all 33 barangay chairmen for a unified action against the dreaded viral infection.

The Dengue Situation Report, presented by Dr. Jessie Paul Culang of the city epidemiology and surveillance unit also noted that 10 to 19-year-olds are most affected as of July 20-26, raising further concerns in the city government.

In response, the barangay chairmen shall serve as frontliners in the anti-dengue campaign to include:

Search and destroy activities every 4 PM, at least every other day, until no new cases are reported for two consecutive cycles (28 days).

Coordinate with schools (public and private) to conduct search and destroy operations daily at 4 PM.

Implement space spraying (misting/fogging) immediately after search and destroy, scheduled every 7 days for 4 cycles.

Ensure households participate in Alas Kwatro Kontra Mosquito (4 PM mosquito prevention tips).

Mass information drive on 4 Ts: Taob (standing water), Taktak (damp areas), Tuyo (dry water containers), and Takip (cover containers).

“Let us work together—public, barangay officials, and schools—to keep Angeles safe and free from dengue,” Lazatin exhorted the barangay chairs. Angeles CIO
