Tinanggihan daw ni Max Collins anf offer noon na sumali sa beauty pageant. “Noon pa talaga, marami nang nag-aalok sa’king sumali kasi sayang daw ang height ko, just like Megan Young,” sabi niya. “But it’s not really a dream of mine.
Si Megan, dream niya talaga ‘yun and I’m so happy for her that she made her dream come true. I wasn’t surprised at all that she won. I was so proud watching her on TV as she walked in her beautiful gown.
She was so graceful and she answered the questions to her with so much confidence. I’m sure she will make the Philippines proud and let’s all pray that she brings home the Miss World crown. Ako, acting talaga ang focus ko. I want to excel in this.
I won’t be able to bear the pressure sa isang beauty competition. Nenerbiyusin ako nang husto and find it so stressful, so ayoko. May destined talaga to be beauty queens, like Megan. Ako, I’d rather play different characters just like the one I’m playing in my very first movie, ‘Bamboo Flowers’.”
She’s thankful to Direk Maryo de los Reyes for casting her in “Bamboo Flowers”, which was shot on location in the beautiful island of Bohol. “I’m in the episode with Orlando Sol. Magkasintahan kami who dream of having a better life. I work in a resort and met a foreigner who offers to marry and take me abroad.
So ‘yun ang conflict sa story namin. Will I choose my true love or the offer for a better life with a foreign husband?
I’m so proud my first movie is with Direk Maryo J, na una kong nakasama sa ‘Pahiram ng Sandali’ on GMA7. You should watch for our final scene in Orlando sa movie, dramang-drama, but very inspirational.”
So what’s her next project after “Pahiram”? “Wala pa. But I’m in ‘Bubble Gang’ and ‘Sunday All Stars’. I was also a guest in ‘With a Smile’ at pinalalabas pa episodes that I taped for them hanggang ngayon. Sana nga, magkaroon na ako ng bagong soap.”
