ANGELES CITY — A gastronomic event of the north was once again celebrated with a myriad of food finds through the annual Big Bite Food Festival at the Marquee Mall here over the weekend.
Now on its 7th year, the Big Bite Food Festival prepared a feast for all.
Marquee Mall’s marketing manager Trisha Dungca said the main component of the event was still the food market and with the hype of the Korean wave influence, Korean food booths were also available.
“We’re celebrating its 7th year. We had different food concepts at the activity center and park. We had food from the northern region from the popular Ilocos empanada, to fresh fruits and vegetables from Benguet,” said Dungca.
“But new concepts like the mushroom milk tea and other products and pinoy delicacies from the northern region also participated in the event,” she added.
A cooking demo was a part of the early event undertaking held at the activity center prepared by ISCAHM culinary chef instructors Raymund Pellicer and Joven Egtapen as well as Tollhouse chef Josie Mendoza.
An outdoor cinema was also set up with picnic mats placed at the mall’s lawn featuring three different Pinoy movies lined up for anyone who wished to watch under the open sky while eating delicacies offered at the park.
A live entertainment from the local band “Kiro” kicked off the first night followed by Pinoy indie band SUD, and I Belong to the Zoo through the weekend.
The music shone the spotlight with intensity to the Pinoy indie vibe while completing the weekend of gastronomic feast for all.
The Big Bite Food Festival was held in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Manila North Tollways Corp. (MNTC). – With reports from: April B. Dulnuan, Julieann A. Miranda and Renalyn C. Olalo/OJT SPCF
