CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Just in time for the Christmas season, Mark Lantern Maker by Mark Niño Flores has opened its new and improved showroom in Sta. Lucia, offering a brighter and more inviting space to showcase the artistry of Kapampangan lanternmaking.
The expanded exhibit hall features Flores’ latest innovations, including modern lanterns adorned with RGB strips and bulbs, alongside his popular fabric lantern designs that marry tradition with contemporary style. Adding a personal touch, the showroom also includes a wall of pride and achievement, displaying trophies and recognitions won by Mark and his father, Arnel, at the renowned Giant Lantern Festival.

“I would like to thank my Ninang Ching (Pangilinan) for encouraging me to build a showroom for my creations to be more appreciated by prospect buyers and guests,” Flores said, crediting his mentor’s guidance in turning this dream into reality.

Flores’ journey as a lantern maker began at the tender age of seven, when he started helping his father craft the iconic Parul Fernandino. His dedication bore fruit when he first won second runner-up for San Juan in 2018, and later emerged as champion in 2022—a milestone that cemented his name in San Fernando’s lanternmaking legacy.

Today, Mark and his father continue to work hand-in-hand, blending craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation to keep the tradition of lanternmaking alive for future generations. With the new showroom now open, guests and buyers alike are invited to witness how the timeless glow of the parul continues to inspire and unite the Christmas capital of the Philippines.
