MARIVELES, Bataan – The municipal government installed four disinfection booths to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease, the latest one on Tuesday at its public market.
It is the first of such booths in the province.
Mayor Jocelyn Castaneda led in the installation at the Mariveles public market in Barangay San Carlos and explained how to use it.
She said that before anyone can go in and out of the market, he or she has to enter the booth using his or her elbow and not the hands in opening the transparent plastic cover. She said using the hands or fingers may help transfer the virus.
Three other disinfection booths were earlier set-up, one at the Mariveles Mental Wellness General Hospital in Barangay Poblacion and one each in barangays Batangas Dos and Balon Anito.
Castaneda asked for understanding and cooperation for the early eradication of the pandemic. “Sa pagtutulungan natin at sa awa ng Diyos, malalampasan natin ito,” the mayor said.
Of the 10 reported patients confirmed positive of Covid–19 in Bataan, one came from Mariveles.
