SUBIC, ZAMBALES — As part of the community outreach program of the Philippine National Police, The Regional Maritime Office-3 (RMO3) held a feeding program that benefited more than 100 day care pupils in Barangay Matain, this town recently.
Senior Supt. Thomas Abellar, RMO3 acting chief, led personnel of this office in the said activity is in line with the 17th Children Month celebration with a theme: “Bright Child: Proteksyon ng Bata, Pananagutan ng Bansa.”
Assisted by Barangay Captain Mark Chua, the day care workers and interns from Columban College Nursing Department in Olongapo City, the activity started with the preparation and cooking of nutritious “arrozcaldo” with “malunggay” leaves, serving the food and storytelling.
PO2 Precile Cordero gave a brief lecture with emphasis on the importance of eating green leafy vegetables like “malunggay” leaves to the children.
P/SInspector Noel Asis said “this an opportunity for us Uniformed Police Officers, to engrave happiness in the heart of every child. Their smiles make personnel of this office boost their duties and responsibilities as public servants and savior and protectors of children welfare,” he added
In appreciation to the RMO3 personnel, the children recited “Salamat Po, Thank You Po, Ate, Kuya Gusto Kong Mag-Pulis,” which definitely touched the hearts of the officers.
