ABUCAY, Bataan — A suspected drug dealer fell in the hands of government operatives and 45 different sizes of plastic sachets believed containing dried marijuana leaves were confiscated during buy-bust operation in a village here, police announced Monday.
Senior Inspector Jennifer Cruz, Abucay police chief, said Karl Joseph Kamatoy, 30, of Dinalupihan, Bataan was arrested after handing over a medium size brick containing suspected marijuana leaves to a poseur- buyer in exchange for three P1,000-bill marked money.
The operation by combined elements of provincial and municipal police conducted in Barangay Calaylayan, Abucay was in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Cruz said that during protective search of the backpack of suspect, confiscated were three large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, 10 medium size self-sealing plastic sachets and 32 small size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, all believed containing dried marijuana leaves.
The confiscated items have a total value of P20,000, she said. The police chief said that they were still investigating where suspect sourced his supply of the illegal drug.
PO2 Rocky Mariano, Abucay police investigator, said they were preparing a case for violation of Sections 5 & 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act against Kamatoy.
