A close-up shot of the mapping machine used to determine the route of the autonomous vehicles that will transport athletes within the New Clark City sports complex during the 30th South East Asian Games. It has a built-in 360-camera and lidar that enable the vehicles to detect and anticipate passing pedestrians and cars in front of the autonomous vehicle. According to COAST Autonomous Chairman and CEO David Hickey, the machine also allows the vehicles to have a navigation system of its own, and not solely rely on GPS which can be inaccurate at times.

COAST’s Chief Technology Officer Pierre Lefevre recently used the mapping machine inside the New Clark City sports complex.
