THE Department of Tourism, in its efforts to enhance the image of the Philippines as a culinary destination, will organize an event called “KAIN NA!” FOOD AND TRAVEL FAIR designed to create awareness and interest on Filipino cuisine and Farm Tourism sites. It is a celebration of Philippine culture and tradition with the end view of promoting the country as a center of food and gastronomy. This degustacion is a good opportunity to showcase another facet of the Philippines as a destination.
“KAIN NA!” Food and Travel Festival is a three-day regional event held at the Ayala Malls in Bacolod, Davao (Abreeza Mall), Pampanga (Marquee Mall), and Cavite (Serin Mall-Tagaytay) on December 7-9, 2018. The Festival will feature local dishes prepared by Filipino chefs with food demonstration and sampling, farm products (agricultural, arts and crafts), and farm tourism destinations. Exhibitors from regional farm tourism associations, DOT-accredited farm tourism operators, farm cooperatives, tour operators, academe, and partner agencies will participate and to showcase the best of their offerings.
In Pampanga the event will be called as MANGAN NA! Food and Travel Fair to use the Kapampangan dialect. The Pampanga leg of the event is the most awaited, being it is the coined as the Food Capital of the Philippines. Famous celebrity chefs like Sau Del Rosario, Jam Melchor, Josephine Mendoza, Lillian Borromeo and others will be featured in the event. Expect a wide variety of food products from the local MSMEs and farm tourism sites. This is the best time and best place to do your shopping for your Christmas giveaways. Admission is free!
