MAGALANG, Pampanga – A 32-year-old man was arrested for possession of shabu estimated to be worth P1.08 million in a police operation in Barangay Dolores here at 1 a.m. last Wednesday.
In a report, the Pampanga police identifi ed the suspect as July Baluyut, a resident of Barangay Duquit in Mabalacat City.
Magalang police chief Lt. Col. Michael Jhon Riego said his arrest was prompted by an anonymous call to the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd PMFC) about the mysterious presence of the suspect near the barangay hall of Dolores past midnight.
Cops from 2nd PMFC then coordinated with the local police and proceeded to the site of the barangay hall where they saw Baluyut by himself.
Seeing the cops approach, the suspect fl ed, throwing two items on his route, but the cops caught up and arrested him.
The police later found out that what the suspect had thrown were two plastic bags which contained what police laboratory later confirmed to be shabu, Riego said.
He said the two bags with shabu weighed about 300 grams and was estimated to be worth P1.08 million.
