PILAR, Bataan- Police on Sunday arrested a man who had in his possession a hand grenade and a handgun and was reportedly extorting money as “revolutionary tax” from residents of a village here.
Senior Insp. Dennis Orbista, Pilar police chief, said they nabbed Domingo Bernabe alias Ka Vanessa, 58, resident of Barangay Central, Balanga City after receiving complaint from concerned citizens in Barangay Alauli in Pilar.
The suspect who was wearing military camo-green jacket even drew his handgun and aimed at the responding police offi cer but, however, was subdued by other lawmen, the police chief said.
Seized from suspect were a hand grenade and a revolver with three live bullets. The pieces of evidence were sent for ballistics examination to the police crime laboratory in Balanga City. Police readied cases for illegal possession of fi rearms and explosive and violation of the election gun ban against Bernabe.
