OLONGAPO CITY — A man wanted for frustrated murder was nabbed in a drug buy-bust by operatives of the drug enforcement unit of Police Station 4 in Barangay New Cabalan here.
PS4 chief Captain Walter Primero identified the suspect as Renato Lim aka Bong, 52, of No. 53, Pinagpala Street, Purok 4, Barangay New Cabalan. Lim was arrested while selling a transparent plastic sachet of shabu worth P200 to police poseur–buyer.
Police confiscated from the suspect 17 more transparent plastic sachets of shabu weighing 3.0 grams amounting to P20,000, and the sting money.
Police record showed Lim has a warrant of arrest for frustrated murder issued by Judge Melani Fay V. Tadili of RTC, Branch 72 of Olongapo City with recommended bail of P200,00.
The warrant of arrest stemmed from a shooting incident last June 5, 2020 at Pinagpala Street, Purok 4, Barangay New Cabalan where one Renante Leyson was shot by the suspect with two others.
Olongapo City police director Col. Benjamin Sembrano, Jr praised the PS4 operatives for their “noteworthy accomplishment” and assured the public that the city police will continue to intensify its relentless campaign against illegal drug amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
