A police report showed that Sherwin Ragasa, 24, of Orion, Bataan and his girlfriend Roxanne Medina, 25, were buying snacks from an ambulant vendor after working at a manufacturing firm in the Freeport Area of Bataan when the suspect fired his gun.
The suspect identified as Jhon Kevin Tejada, 24, also of Orion, shot the victim with his caliber .38 paltik in the head and leg, the police said.
The suspect who faces a case for murder surrendered voluntarily and is now detained at the Mariveles municipal jail.
Police placed the motive for the killing on jealousy and love triangle.
Tejada and Medina were living-in together for about eight years and had a child before she dumped him for her new lover, a co-factory worker.
“Malayo na bumaril sa kuya ko pero nakilala ng girlfriend niyana dati niya itong asawa,” Geraldine Ragasa said. She also said her brother and Roxanne have been living-in together for a month.
She said her brother had gunshot wounds on the head and knee. “Agaw-buhay na siya nang dumating sa ospital,” the grieving younger sister said.
The victim was rushed to the Bataan General Hospital in Balanga City where he died.
“Sumuko at umamin ang bumaril sa kuya ko pero walang kabayaran ang ginawa niya. Sana mabigyan ng hustisya ang pagkamatay ng kuya ko. Napakabait ng kuya ko,” Geraldine said.
