BALANGA CITY — A suspect was arrested for illegal possession of firearm and illegal drugs while police operatives were on patrol in Barangay Lalawigan in Samal, Bataan on Oct. 5.
Col. Palmer Tria, Bataan police director, said that personnel of the Samal municipal police station headed by Capt. Gilcerio Dizon, Jr. responded to a report from a concerned citizen of a male person displaying a firearm in the area.
Responding operatives spotted the suspect with something bulging tucked in his waist and when subjected to visual inspection led to the discovery of the firearm in his possession.
Seized from the suspect was a .38 revolver loaded with live ammunitions and when subjected to protective search, a medium size heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu was also found in his possession, report showed.
The suspect faces charges for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunitions), Section 261 (q) of the Omnibus Election Code, and Section 11 of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act).
