SAN JOSE CITY – A 36-year-old painter is now locked in jail after allegedly raping the 17-year-old sister of his live-in partner in Barangay Riverside here on May 26.
Police Officer 2 Melissa Eusebio of the San Jose City police’s women and children’s desk, identified the suspect as Reggie Flores, a resident of the same village.
In her complaint lodged before the city police, the victim said she, a native of Bacolod City, has been living in the residence of Flores for only a week now to take care of her nephew.
Her sister, who is the suspect’s live-in partner, was in Metro Manila for work, investigation disclosed.
Investigation also showed the victim was sleeping with her nephew when awakened at about 2 a.m. on Tuesday by the someone upon her. She reportedly saw Flores on top of her with a knife poked on her breast.
She reportedly tried to resist but was allegedly warned by the suspect that he would kill both her and the child.
The victim reported the incident to a neighbor right after the suspect went out of the house after satisfying his ill will.
A neighbor helped the victim in seeking police assistance which resulted to his immediate arrest. The suspect denied the charges saying the girl has been going home late since.
The victim was placed under the custody of the police’s Women and Children Protection Center.
