Man hunted for killing woman, daughter

SAN JOSE CITY – A manhunt operation has been launched against a jobless man who was tagged in the killing of a mother and daughter in Barangay Malasin here recently, police said.

Police Col. Heryl Bruno, city police chief, said Edmer Balbin, of legal age and native of Barangay Dolores, Quirino, Isabela is being hunted for allegedly stabbing to death Gina Garcia, 39, and daughter Jennygrace, 16, residents of the said village on Holy Wedneaday, April 17.

Investigation showed the suspect used an eight-inch steel blade in stabbing the victims who were both declared dead upon arrival at Paulino J. Garcia Memorial Research and Medical Center due to multiple stab wounds, Bruno said.

Police have yet to establish the motive of the killing.

Forensic investigators recovered the murder weapon with blood stains and lifted finger prints, supposedly of Balbin, from the window and other things in the crime scene, police said.
