Malayan Insurance Co. Inc. (Malayan Insurance) has again demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility through its annual GameChangers corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. Unlike typical CSR projects, GameChangers empowers employees to lead social impact activities that focus on the company’s chosen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) SDG 1 (no poverty), SDG 4 (quality education), and SDG 10 (reduced inequality).
Malayan Insurance then matches the funds raised for each activity to amplify its impact. Through this strategy, the company is able to deepen the civic mindedness of employees while cultivating a culture of compassion and responsibility within the organization.
Two of its stand-out employee-led CSR projects in 2025 were the Bancassurance CBG Team’s “Back to School!” project and the Sales Division’s MICO “Guiding Lights, Growing Lives.”

The Bancassurance CBG Team’s “Back to School!” project at Payatan Orione Foundation reached 140 children through a school supply donation drive and feeding program. Organized by the team in lieu of a traditional team outing and birthday celebration, the activity reflected the group’s intentionality and shared community spirit to make their celebration more meaningful and impactful for the community.
While the Sales Division’s “MICO Guiding Lights, Growing Lives” initiative supported the Aeta community in O’Donnell, Tarlac by addressing their safety concerns and long-term learning needs through donated solar lights and school supplies. Fully-funded by employee contributions, the project was done in close coordination with the community and local stakeholders. The effort’s far-reaching contribution to community safety and education earned it the title of “2025 GameChangers Champion.”

“The Gamechangers projects our employees launched in 2025 are testament to how Malayan Insurance values sustainability and social responsibility. By giving personnel the latitude to choose, plan, and lead meaningful community projects, we enable them to see how their collective efforts can drive real, positive change. We want each of them to realize that they can make a difference,” said Eden R. Tesoro, Chief Operating Officer of Malayan Insurance.
Tesoro added that all GameChangers projects, past and present, underscore the insurer’s long-standing commitment to serve and give back to the community that has been integral to its success, which is the core principle behind the company’s ongoing “Love, Malayan” campaign.

“We are proud of the dedication, generosity, and creativity of our teams who selflessly developed these CSR projects. Through their efforts, more importantly, their hearts and hands, we are able to help advance the Philippines and uplift each of our fellow countrymen,” she added.
