ANGELES CITY – Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Tarzan” Lazatin has announced the release of P50 million for various infrastructure projects in Mabalacat and Magalang.
Lazatin disclosed that the bulk of the budget – P44 million – will be used in Magalang. He said the funds came from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
In a recent letter to National Irrigation Authority (NIA) Regional Director Manny Collado, Lazatin said Barangay Sta. Cruz in Magalang will get P15 million for diversion dams and irrigation systems.
Sta. Cruz Village Chief Rodolfo Gonzales said the funds will be used for the Paranum creek to improve the flood control system in one of the most populated areas in Magalang.
“We are thankful for the consistent support of the congressman,” said Gonzales, who is the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) president.
San Miguel Barangay Captain Nelson Dizon said they will have P2 million worth of infrastructure projects from Lazatin. He added that it will be used for the “Purok Dalan Bayu” drainage structure connecting the mini-dam to a nearby village.
Other villages in Magalang who will get funds for various infrastructure projects are: Escaler, P5 million; Camias, P10 million; and San Vicente, P5 million. At least P1 million will used for shallow tube well project in Magalang.
Barangays Sapang Biabas and Sta. Maria in Mabalacat will get P5 million and P6 million, respectively, for road improvement projects. At least P1 million will be allotted for Mabalacat shallow tube well projects.
Lazatin, in the same letter, urged Collado to immediately complete the projects.
