MABALACAT CITY – As a tribute on the 40th day after his passing on September 2, a concert featuring some of the popular folk singers of their time will be held on Tuesday (October 11) at 4 pm at the old Municipal Hall of this city in Barangay Poblacion.
Siegfried Tiglao Ranada, 71, or more popularly known as Ysagani Yabarra, singer and composer of the popular local folk song “Bilog Na Naman ang Buwan” and “Biyaheng Langit” will be honored for his songs and contribution to the arts.
Among the artists that will perform in the tribute will be Lolita Carbon – lead singer of the famous group Asin, Maela Jose, Dennis Dyanesh Raegalia, Benji Ranada, Ujunpinat Magsino, Mario Ranada, Guy Indra Hilbero, and the Mabalacat folksingers and other guests.
Organized by the Center for Kapampagan Studies of the Holy Angel University in cooperation with the City Government and the Maharlika Artists and Writers Federation, the tribute will also feature fiends of Ysagani like Cecil Yumul and Alex Castro.
