Dau, Mabalacat City – As passengers start to flock to Mabalacat City Bus Terminal this Holy Week, the management of the bus terminal said that they are ready for the influx of commuters especially this coming long holiday break.
Mel Garbo, the head of Mabalacat City Bus Terminal, said on a live radio interview last Tuesday that the famous bus terminal in barangay Dau had outlined a plan of operation in anticipation of thousands of passengers planning to return to their home provinces.
“With the support of the Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and the LGU together with our partners from various national government agencies as well as the bus companies, I assure the public that there will be enough buses to be deployed at the Mabalacat City Bus Terminal, Mel Garbo said.
The MCBT did not only asked the bus companies to beef up their operations but also added the number of ambulances by the CDRRMO and medical and help desks as well.
Other government agencies including the Highway Patrol Group, Land Transportation Office, and the Police Regional Office 3 have been provided with kiosk to assist the commuters during the busy week. Bomb-sniffing dogs and marshals are also visible for added security and safety in the area.
According to the management, an estimate of 30,000 to 40,000 passengers is expected to arrive to the terminal this Holy Week.
Mayor Cris Garbo has advised the public to plan their travel well and try to pack light and always hydrate in order to avoid inconvenience brought about by the dry season.
