LUBAO, Pampanga—Some 51 trainees on heavy equipment operation from this town received financial assistance as their allowance after completing their training modules.

Raquel Lugtu, Lubao’s public employment services office (PESO) manager, said the P3,000 allowance for the 51 trainees were given by Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda.

The awarding was held at the Lubao Municipal Hall and was attended by Vice Mayor Robertito Diaz, Councilor Jay Montemayor, Municipal Administrator Elizalde Bernal and representatives from the Provincial Treasurer’s Office and Provincial Manpower Training Center (PMTC).

The one-month training on payloader and backhoe operation was sponsored by the PMTC in partnership with Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab and PESO.

Lugtu said PESO processed requests for trainings from Lubao residents on various fields of interests such as cookery, hotel and restaurant management, dressmaking, diesel and automotive mechanics, among others.

Upon reaching the minimum number of participants per training strand, Lugtu said, PESO requests the PMTC to provide the training thru accredited technical-vocational schools.

For the heavy equipment operators’ training, PMTC partnered with R. Nadora Training Center of Cabanatuan City since there were no schools in Pampanga that offer the course.

The trainings were held at the motorpool of MSVB Construction, owned by Engineer Noli Vitug of Barangay San Antonio, here.

NC II certificates, which are prerequisite documents especially when seeking work abroad, have been conferred to the trainees.

PESO also recommends the trainees to various companies and assists them to land a job locally or overseas based on the skills they acquired in the trainings.

Lugtu said PESO will open recruitment for carpenters on Monday, August 20, for possible deployment to Canada.
