ANGELES CITY — Some 2,213 students in Day Care centers will be more comfortable with their new set of wooden chairs and tables that are locally-made by Impact Balibago Arts and Crafts (IBAC).
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. said all 76 Day Care centers here are set to receive the free wooden chairs, tables, and even school supplies.
Lazatin will personally distribute these beginning January 9, 2022 in Day Care centers in Barangays Sto. Domingo and San Jose. The distribution in the remaining Day Care centers will follow suit.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas presided the meeting for the final preparation of distribution recently with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, City Social Welfare and Development Officer Duaso, City Nutrition Officer Jermaine Jam Aguila, Gender and Development Officer Cabiles, City Engineer Donato Dizon, General Services Office Head Evangeline Malonzo, and Angeles City Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office Head Irish Bonus-Llego.
According to Calaguas, 2,213 students — 1,062 males and 1,151 females — will be provided a wooden chair each.
One table, meanwhile, can occupy 6 students.
“Nasa 339 na pirasong table po ang ipapamigay natin,” Calaguas said.
Apart from the school supplies and school furniture, the students will also receive Vitamin C and multivitamins.
“This is in line with our continuous aim to uplift the quality of education for our youth, and to also put a priority to our teachers in the centers,” Lazatin said.
Lazatin said this is not just putting premium on the educational programs of the city but also promoting Gawang Angeleño. The wooden tables and chairs to be distributed are locally-produced and made by IBAC Woodcrafts.
“Our local talent is already commendable. They deserve to be introduced to our kababayans, lalo na sa mga kabataan, maituro sa kanila ang kahalagahan at kagandahan ng sariling atin,” Lazatin said.
Among the support staff who will assist Mayor Lazatin in the distribution are City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Edna Duaso, City Nutrition Office headed by Jermaine Jam Aguila, and Gender and Development Office led by Mina Cabiles.
Ever since Mayor Lazatin took office, the Day Care centers have been given proper attention — including accreditation, improvement, and purchase of air conditioning units and electric fans.
The Day Care workers also received ₱1,000 salary raise in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
