FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija — Eighteen families the Aeta community were awarded a library and solar lights during an Outreach and Gift-Giving Activity at Sitio Kaitahan, Barangay Cadaclan, Pantabangan town last Oct. 30.
The 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion in partnership with the Rotary Club of Makati-San Antonio and Rotary Club of San Jose Golden Harvest spearheaded the activity.
“We are grateful to 84IB for the partnership that brought this mission to success. Your initiative to help improve people’s lives is a special characteristic that we admire,” enthused Eiza Mendoza Espina, president of Rotary Club of Makati-San Antonio.
Aeta community leader Danny Balario expressed the gratitude of the recipients to the Army and the Rotary Clubs.
Part of the activity was an information awareness drive on how so-called communist terrorist groups “exploit and deceive indigenous people through their propaganda machinery.”
Acting commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Brig. Gen. Luis Rex D. Bergante extended his gratitude to the Army’s partner-stakeholder for their initiative benefiting the Aeta community and emphasized the importance of strong partnership in terms of delivering the basic social services for the people in far-flung communities.
