JAEN, Nueva Ecija — The peace and order drive in this municipality received a big boost with the local government headed by Mayor Sylvia Austria donating a back-to-back Nissan pick-up truck and three NMax motorcycles to the local police station on Dec. 19.
The Bureau of Fire Protection also received a motorcycle from the LGU during the turn-over activity that was held after the flag ceremonies at the municipal gym here.
Col. Richard Caballero, officer-in- charge of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office, and Maj. Robert de Guzman, acting city police chief, received the mobility equipment for the town PNP.
Municipal fire marshal Senior Insp. Rolando Mendoza, on the other hand, received the equipment for the fire bureau.
The mayor explained the purchase was made through a measure passed by the sangguniang bayan led by Vice Mayor Atty. Sylvester Austria.
Caballero, for his part, expressed gratitude to Austria and the LGU saying the donated vehicles will further capacitate the police in their anti-criminality campaign.
For the Department of Education, the LGU has purchased two electric bikes, one each for the two divisions in this municipality.
