Lewis Grand Hotel golf tourney set June 1

    ANGELES CITY – The Lewis Grand Annual Invitational golf tournament will be held on June 1 at the Mimosa Golf and Country Club in Clark, organizers said on Tuesday.

    At least 80 players have registered to join the first-ever promotion of Louis C. Yakich, founder of Lewis Grand Hotel here.

    Tournament organizer Christopher Pettit disclosed that at least P200,000 in  cash and prizes will be given to the winners. 

    Pettit said interested players have until 11: 00 a.m. on Friday in Mimosa to join the tournament. He added that they may also register at the Lewis Grand reception before the ceremonial tee-off at 6:30 a.m.  

    “It’s an invitational. But everyone is welcome to join,” said Pettit. 

    He said the entrance fee is P2,500 and P1,000 for non-Mimosa members and Mimosa members, respectively. The entrance includes the green fee and dinner at the post-game awarding ceremony at Lewis Grand.

    “We will bring the players at the High Society bar at Fields after the awarding,” said Pettit.    

    He said the there will be top three winners on “Net” and “Gross” categories. Special prices will also be given to “closest to the hole,” “longest drive” and “duffer.”

    The tournament will be played under Callaway Handicap System.
