CLARK FREEPORT– In honor of the late Clark Development Corp. president-CEO Levy P. Laus, an avenue inside this freeport has been named after him.
Located at Berthaphil 2 Complex, the Levy Laus Avenue, was dedicated by business owners and stockholders inside the business estate led by Peter Herman. Big industrial estates like the Berthaphil in this Freeport have given names to the streets on land leased out to them.
Herman presented the avenue sign to Laus Group of Companies president Paul Laus, son of the honoree, during a recent visit here.
The young Laus thanked Herman not only for the honor bestowed upon his father with the street name, but also for the friendship he established with the family that has grown stronger through the years.
Widely acclaimed as an avatar of countryside development, Levy P. Laus started with a small automotive dealership in 1978 with meager capital that allowed only three cars in his display room and grew it into a diversified multi-brand conglomerate Laus Group of Companies that is now the Philippines’ largest.
He served as president and chief executive officer of the Clark Development Corp. from 2006 to 2008.
Laus died in a helicopter crash in April 2019. PR
