CABANATUAN CITY – The leader of a group wanted for a series of criminal activities in the southern part of Nueva Ecija was arrested Tuesday evening, a police report said.
Arrested was Ponciano Germino, 39, of Sta. Rosa town by a combined elements of the town’s police force, Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office and the Police Investigation Bureau.
He was tagged as the leader of Alakdan 2 group that carried out many crimes including robbery-homicide.
He was found in possession of a caliber 45 gun with ammunition when accosted at 11:30 p.m. at the Poblacion of Sta. Rosa town. He did not resist arrest.
Germino, who has a number of warrants of arrest issued against him, allegedly led his group in a robbery with homicide case in Gapan City wherein the victim was a lending collector, robbery with frustrated homicides in Sta. Rosario town wherein the three victims were shot before their P400,000 just withdrawn from a bank were taken away, carnapping, attempted murder, among other cases.
Two of his group members were killed earlier this year in separate clashes with the police while another was killed by an unidentified suspect, the police report said.
Germino is currently detained at the Sta. Rosa police station. Another case of illegal possession will be filed against him, the police said.
