MABALACAT, Pampanga – The local police here are hunting down two suspects who casually walked into and held up people in an LBC package delivery office in Barangay Poblacion here at about 3:45 p.m. last Monday.
Chief Senior Supt. Rodney Baloyo IV said the LBC office was only about 100 steps from the main police headquarters in this town, but admitted that cops were caught off guard by the incident.
The suspects, wearing no masks and armed with a .38 calibre revolver, carted off only P20,000 cash from the office. They also got the cellphones and jewelry of the personnel and the customers.
But Baloyo noted the casual moves of the suspects who arrived on board a tricycle. Inside the office, one brandished the gun and announced the holdup while the other installed a “closed” sign on the door which he also locked from inside.
“It was all over in five minutes. The suspects also boarded a tricycle to flee towards Barangay Sta. Ines,” Baloyo said.
He lamented that the office neither had a security guard nor a closed circuit television monitoring camera.
“But we already have sketches of the suspects. I think they are the same suspects in similar incidents here,” he added.
