ANGELES CITY – Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has instructed members of the City Engineering Office (CEO) to conduct an inspection of the City Government Offices and premises to ensure accessibility to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
On the same note, he is allowing the CEO to use the remaining funds of the Office of the City Mayor to construct necessary structures, promoting a PWD-friendly vicinity.
“As the city government works towards making Angeles City friendly and accessible to PWDs, it should start with the offices of the City Hall,” Lazatin reiterated.
In a related development, the CEO in coordination with the Business Permit and Licensing Division, were also tasked to inspect and ensure accessibility in all establishments in the city.
“The PWDs are part of the community, and we should make them feel like that by making it easier for them in all aspects,” Lazatin said.
The city government is also set to give P1,000 financial assistance to registered PWDs in the city this year.
It can be recalled that during the height of the pandemic, 5,000 registered PWDs received P1,000 financial assistance each from the city government, where Mayor Lazatin allotted a P5-million fund.
