CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “I believe that Fernandinos are intelligent voters and that they will choose a leader that is really capable of serving them.”

Thus, said leading vice mayoralty candidate Jimmy T. Lazatin as he urged Fernandinos to go out and vote on Monday.

Lazatin said he is also praying for peaceful, honest, and orderly elections.

“Piliin natin ang karapat-dapat. It is very important that we go out and vote on May 13,” he said, adding “I fervently pray for peaceful and orderly elections.”

“If we get lucky to get elected to the position of vice mayor what we will do is establish as good relationship with the executive,” Lazatin told reporters during a press conference at the Bale Kapampangan here last Tuesday.

“I will try to work out a good relationship with whoever emerges victorious between Edwin Santiago and Dr. Rey Aquino,” said Lazatin. He added that he is comfortable working with anyone of them in implementing the necessary programs through essential legislations.

An incumbent councilor, Lazatin acknowledged that there is still a lot of work to do in the city council and that essential legislation has to be prioritized. Lazatin is the chairman of the Committee of Education who authored the City College ordinance.

When asked for his reaction on Mayor Oscar Rodriguez’s acknowledgement of him as the city’s “future and next vice-mayor,” he said he was very happy and grateful.

Rodriguez acknowledged Lazatin as “the next vice mayor” during the kick-off ceremonies of Pyestang Fernandino on Monday at the City Hall.

“I am very happy about it and I sincerely thank our mayor for his acknowledgement. Pero ayaw ko munang bilangin ang mga sisiw bago mapisa ang mga itlog. I will wait for the decision of the people,” he said.
