ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on January 9, 2023 started the distribution of school items and furniture to the 6 Child Development centers in the city.
Some 188 Day Care students received their own school shoes, T-shirts, and bags with supplies of pencils and notebooks.
The students also received their Vitamin C supplements, while their parents were given grocery packages including five kilos of rice and canned goods.
The furniture which includes wooden chairs and tables were locally made by Impact Balibago Arts and Crafts (IBAC).
Among the centers visited today by Mayor Lazatin were Sto. Domingo I, II, III, Palmera, and San Jose I and II.
The distribution to the remaining 70 Day care centers will follow suit.
Agnes Cunanan of Sto. Domingo III center sent her utmost gratitude to Mayor Lazatin’s administration for his educational programs to the city’s Day Care centers.
“Kay Mayor Lazatin at sa buong team niya po, maraming salamat po,” Cunanan said.
City Social Welfare and Development Officer Edna Duaso, who assisted Mayor Lazatin during the distribution, said this is not the first time that Mayor Lazatin looked out for the welfare of the Day Care students, the improvement and accreditation of centers, and the incentives for the teachers.
“Hindi po ito ang unang pagkakataon na bumaba si Mayor Lazatin sa mga centers para sa mga programa niyang pang-edukasyon,” Duaso said.
To recall, Mayor Lazatin already distributed the same school supplies to all public elementary, junior, and senior high schools, benefitting 93,053 students.
