ANGELES CITY – A total of 1,230 employees at the City Hall – 872 permanent, 343 casual, and 15 contractual – are set to receive an additional P17,000 bonus on December 2022.
On the other hand, 3,100 Contract of Service (COS) employees who are qualified for the P3,000 year-end gratuity will receive theirs on December 7, 2022.
This can be gleaned from Memorandum No. 1385, Series of 2022 issued on Sept. 15, 2022 by Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr.
The P17,000 additional benefits for the 1,230 city government employees including the Productivity Enhancement Incentive worth P5,000 will be released on Dec. 14; Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus worth P6,000 on December 22; and the Service Recognition Incentive worth P6,000 which is to be released to the 1,230 workers on Dec. 29.
This is apart from their tax-free year-end bonus, equivalent to one-month basic salary, which is set to be released on November 15.
Upon the instructions of Mayor Lazatin on Sept. 15, 2022, the Local Finance Committee composed of the City Budget Office; City Accounting Office; and City Treasurer’s Office, immediately computed and prepared the cash incentives.
“Ito po ay bilang kapasalamatan sa dedikasyon at serbisyo ng mga manggagagawang Angeleños sa gitna ng pandemya,” Lazatin said.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang daloy ng serbisyo dahil sa kanilang kapagurang magtrabaho. Hindi ko po kakayanin ang lahat kung hindi dahil sakanila. Thank you very much for your hardwork,” Lazatin added.
“The city government has also enough funds allotted to grant the cash incentives,” he shared.
Flordeliza Santos, president of the Association of Government Employees for a New Dynamic Angeles City (AGENDA), said the administration of Mayor Lazatin continues to look out for the welfare of the employees.
“Christmas came early for all the government employees because of Mayor Pogi Lazatin. Maraming Salamat po Mayor sa patuloy na pagmamahal sa aming mga empleyado. Hindi pa po namin hinihingi, ibinibigay na po ninyo,” Santos said.
Santos mentioned the efforts of Mayor Lazatin in pushing for the release of the said cash incentives.
“We thank you Mayor Lazatin for setting the bar high when it comes to taking care of the employees, you inspire us to work harder and you continue to set an example of providing better and quality public service to the people of Angeles City. Mabuhay po kayo,” she added.
Santos also furthered that AGENDA will support the programs of Mayor Lazatin in uplifting the welfare of all employees and Angeleños.
Meanwhile, the grant of year-end bonus is in accordance with Republic Act (RA) No. 66861, as amended by RA No. 8441, and under the Department of Budget Management Circular No. 2016-4.
