ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. has allocated P5 million in the 2025 budget of the city government for the additional allowance and training fund of public school teachers.

“Binibigyan po natin ng prayoridad at kahalagahan ang ginagampanang tungkulin ng ating mga teachers lalo na sa paghubog at pangangalaga sa edukasyon ng ating mga Kabataan,” noted Lazatin in announcing the allocation during his meeting with the Angeles City Public School Teachers Association (ACPUSTA) at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room on July 4.

ACPUSTA president Jerome Esguerra said the initiative of the mayor and the city council led by Vice Mayor Vicenta Vega-Cabigting is a great help to the association, especially for their future training.

The ACPUSTA, he said, is very happy to receive the news personally from the mayor. “Masayang-masaya po ang mga guro at ang association, na talagang binibigyan po kami ng prayoridad ni Mayor Lazatin.”

“Sa ngalan po ng association, maraming-maraming salamat po kay Mayor Pogi, kay Ma’am IC Calaguas, Ms. Reina Manuel, at sa city council po sa binigay niyo pong ito,” Esguerra added, stressing that not only the students are being prioritized, but also the welfare of the teachers.

One of Lazatin’s priority programs is quality education. It is under this administration that public school students started receiving school gear and school supplies including uniforms, bags, shoes, and socks. Angeles CIO
