Mirjana Soldo, one of the six visionaries of Medjugorje, received last Aug. 2 another message from the Blessed Mother who physically appeared to her. Below is the message translated from Croatian to English:
"Dear children: Today I call you to be born anew in prayer and through the Holy Spirit, to become a new people with my Son; a people who know that if they have lost God, they have lost themselves; a people who know that, with God, despite all sufferings and trials, they are secure and saved.
I call you to gather into God’s family and to be strengthened with the Father’s strength. As individuals, my children, you cannot stop the evil that wants to begin to rule in this world and to destroy it.
But, according to God’s will, all together, with my Son, you can change everything and heal the world. I call you to pray with all your heart for your shepherds, because my Son chose them. Thank you."
Previous messages of the Blessed Mother also cited the importance of prayer which, she once said must come “from the heart.” She also had stressed that in praying for an intention, it is important that the intention be made explicit, that is, said as specifically as possible.
“Pray, pray, pray,” the Blessed Mother also said at one time in Medjugorje to underscore the importance of prayer which I personally often anchor on Jesus’ words about which I often nag Him: “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.”
Praying seems so easy and if that is all it takes to save the world whose behavior is becoming stranger to us by the day, how come only a few people pray?
I tell you it is Godlessness even among Catholics who have designed their own 10 Commandments, partly by insisting that going to Mass on Sundays is not a must for them as what is important is that you don’t harm other people. Strike out number three in the Decalogue.
Having devoted articles to recent prophecies of people believed to be experiencing supernatural apparitions or locutions (internal voices) or both, a few have called me doomsayer.
Of course the prophecies were not mine, as they were often lifted word for word from the prophets of our times and it just so happened that most of their prognostications were unhappy ones.
I am more careful now in trying to sift false prophets from credible ones, after having been hoodwinked into giving importance to one Louise Starr Tomkiel who claimed to be receiving messages from Jesus Himself.
She had forecast Armageddon in various terrifying shades that were supposed to befall us all before the year 2000. When the world went on beyond the year, she vanished from the Internet only to resurface only very recently. She is a bogus.
Many Catholics are befuddled by the so many “secrets” being given from Heaven to a growing number of visionaries. When Vatican released the supposed third secret given by the Blessed Virgin at Fatima in 1917, many insisted some of the more alarming parts of the secret were withheld.
Anyone, however, who has braced for warnings in the superlative, any search for dire messages – whose outcome could be averted by mankind’s turning back to God- should end with the Catholic Church-approved apparitions in Akita, Japan in 1973.
Akita, by the way, was near the most devastated parts of Japan in the recent earthquake-tsunami devastation, but sustained only little damage.
In Akita, the Blessed Mother told Sister Agnes Sasagawa the following:
"As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before.
Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead.
The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests.
"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops.
The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests); churches and altars will be sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord. “
And this prophecy seems to be already unfolding.
