A group of eye doctors and nurses is dedicated to improving the vision of the city’s underprivileged residents by offering free eye exams and treatment.

The Lasik Surgery Clinic at the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center (AUFMC) celebrated their 14th year anniversary on Sunday, November 13, by giving back to the underprivileged girls at the Christian Home of Eucharistic Love and Kindness (CHELK).

Andrew Angeles, president of Lasik, said that the eye examination and provision of appropriate treatment for 23 beneficiaries is part of their 14-year anniversary outreach projects.

“It’s part of us giving back all the blessings we had and also sharing them with the orphans in our area,” Angeles said.
“We are blessed by giving back to others,” he added.

For her part, Sr. Florentina Montemayor, vice-chairperson of CHELK, expressed gratitude to the Lasik team for extending charity to patients in non-government organizations.

“It’s a big help, especially for kids nowadays who are exposed to electronic gadgets, and the eye doctor’s expertise is very timely. “They are indeed a blessing to us,” Montemayor said.

It can be recalled that on September 4, 2022, the Lasik participated in Bayanihan Sa Tubig Kanlungan, an advocacy tree planting activity to raise awareness of the importance of planting and saving trees, This was in partnership with the Abacan River and Angeles Watershed Advocacy Council Inc. (ARAW) and Beautéderm Corporation at Sapangbato, Angeles City.
