MABALACAT CITY – Senator Lito Lapid, on Saturday, March 19, endorsed Atty. Dennis Pangan as candidate for mayor of Sta. Ana during a campaign rally in Barangay San Bartolome.
Pangan, a lawyer by profession, is running under the National People’s Coalition party. He became the president of Holy Cross College from 2019 to 2021.
Lapid said Pangan is qualified to lead the town of Sta. Ana for his intelligence and professional background.
“Balu yu nakuman anggang-anggang basta’t kaluguran ku, walang iwanan nga eh. Kaibigan na kaibigan ko ito. Kaya kahit saan magpunta ito sasamahan ko. Abugado yan eh, topnotcher yan. Ito ang nagtuturo sa akin at nag-advice, ako kasi kulang ako sa pag-aaral, ito sobra-sobra sa pag-aaral,” said the former Pampanga governor.
Pangan said Lapid’s endorsement came as a surprise and added that if elected, he will return Lapid’s trust back to the people of Sta. Ana.
Though the gathering attracted an estimated crowd of 3,000, it was noticeable that Pangan’s running mate, former three-term Sta. Ana mayor Omeng Concepcion and their councilors were absent during the endorsement.
