CLARK FREEPORT – Reports emanating from this freeport indicate that the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) is now rocked with protest rallies from its own personnel.

A call to Vic Barbieto, president of the Association of CDC Supervisory Personnel (ACSP), has confirmed that their group is staging a moving picket line in front of Building 2127 here housing the CDC Corporate Offices from 12 to 1 p.m. by lighting candles and unfurling streamers.

Barbieto said they are demanding among others, fair treatment in promotions and other benefits. He said they started with their protest rally last Friday and vowed to hold them daily until their demands are met.

Barbieto said their demands include “respecting the rights of employees by following the policy manual; respect the Collective Bargaining Agreement; no to promotion of employees covered with discriminatory and favoritism; and demand for salary increase which CDC employees have yet to receive for the last five years.”

In 2013, the ACSP staged a strike for the alleged “culpable violation of workers’ rights and unfair labor practices” by the CDC.

The ACSP even filed a Notice of Strike (NOS) at the regional office of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) at the City of San Fernando.

Published reports said union members were forced to seek legal remedy following serious violations of the economic provisions of their Collective Bargaining Agreement among others.
