That’s right Kuya J Restaurant is now open for business at SM City Pampanga after it was formally inaugurated on Monday with the popular Philippine Azkals football stars – brothers Phil and James Younghusband – as celebrity guests.
Joining the Azkals in the ribbon cutting ceremony were Mexico Mayor Roy Manalastas, SM officials and restaurant owner Winglip K. Chang who is the president and CEO of I Kitchen, Kuya J’s mother company:
Coming in the heels of the SM City Clark branch opening last month, Kuya (which means big brother in Pilipino) J, like its other branches, offers quality and unique tasting dishes “in a homey dining experience that relaxes you…enveloping you with the warmth and care of a brother.”
As they say, “you can always count on Kuya J to adapt local cuisine and add a different spin to each dish.”
Kuya J’s signature dishes and bestsellers include the all-time Pinoy favorite Crispy Pata, the exotic Grilled Scallops, Lumpia Presko, Crispy Catfish and Tablea Coffee Flan. They are all “definitely a must try” said Rain Cervantes, SM’s youthful PR manager.
“It’s one thing when a person cooks for you, but it’s another when Kuya cooks for you,” said Venus Manalang of SM City Clark.
“Just imagine Kuya preparing his delicious dishes for you all the time. You would definitely want to be present at every dinner, because each meal is special when it comes to Kuya,” they chorused.
Kuya J promises to serve delectable Filipino dishes in a comfortable atmosphere where the inside of the restaurant is made to look like kuya’s (big brother’s) room with modern dining furniture, warm lighting fixtures and the signature bookshelves filled with books of various topics.
