LUBAO, Pampanga – The Korean Community Association Central Luzon Inc. (KCACLI) donated at least P250,000- worth of food items and clothes to victims of the recent floods which affected at least 395 barangays in Pampanga at the height of torrential rains last week.

KCACLI President Hyung Gyo Han on Thursday turned over 3,600 bottles of mineral water, 8,104 packs of noodles, 1,500 pieces of clothes and 128 bottles of Korean milk drink to Lubao Mayor Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab.

The mayor represented her mother Gov. Lilia Pineda who was inspecting the Gumi Dike in Lubao when the KCACLI gave the donations for the flood victims, most of whom are from the province’s second and fourth districts.

“Gov. Pineda is happy and appreciative as Koreans help Filipinos, especially the victims of floods in Pampanga,” Cayabyab said.

KCACLI Vice President JP Choi said their group based in Angeles City had gathered the donations from the 10,000-member association “in just four days.” He was joined by KCACLI executive Kwang Tae Kim and Korean trader Byong Jae “B.J.” Choi.

“We will help again when needed. We have to be helping the people of Pampanga who are very good to us,” said Choi.

Lubao Vice Mayor Robertito Diaz and Councilor Carlos Carlos joined Mayor Pineda in welcoming the KCACLI officials at the municipal hall.
