Three-term Magalang Councilor Koko Pangan Gonzales leads early in the recent vice mayoral survey in the said town, garnering 55.29% of 1,200 respondents. His rivals got 21.4% and 15.57% respectively while 7.75% remain undecided in the same survey.
Coming from a family of business people and civic leaders, Councilor Gonzales has completed his Juris Doctor (Law) in 2021 from Angeles University Foundation School of Law. For his pre-law degree, he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (Management and Communication Track, Minor in Philosophy) in 2011 from Ateneo de Manila University. In 2014 he completed a short course in Strategic Legislative Management for young legislators at the Asian Institute of Management and attended the Rural Development Course sponsored by Japan International Cooperation Agency in Japan.
Some of his notable legislations include: Social Pension for Senior Citizens Ordinance, Regulation of Plastics and Styrofoam Use Ordinance, PWD Affairs Office Ordinance, Youth Empowerment Ordinance, Banal a Bundok Ordinance, Lubenas ning Pasku Ordinance, Anti-Bullying Ordinance, Anti-Sexual Harassment in Public Spaces Ordinance, Mental Health Ordinance, Anti-Discrimination Ordinance, Enhanced Anti-Discrimination Ordinance, Express Lane for Frontliners Ordinance, Stay-at-Home Ordinance, New Normal Ordinance and Anti-Fake News Ordinance.
In 2019 he received an award as an Outstanding Volunteer for Good Governance and Public Policy from Global Zenith Research and Consulting, Inc.
