CLARK FREEPORT – Another PNoy senatorial bet endorsed the Clark International Airport (CIA) and bats for its immediate and full development.

Senator Koko Pimentel said the government will save a lot of money if funds for the improvement of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila will instead be coursed to the CIA for its full development.

Pimentel made the statement during the launching of the “Kalaban sa Pandaraya, Kapihan Series” press conference after the ground-breaking ceremonies  of the Mirada Hotel here yesterday.

Pimentel explained that if the Clark airport will be developed into its full potential, NAIA will become less congested and could settle to its planned capacity while the former will act as another international gateway.

He said this scheme would save the national government money since both airports (NAIA and CIA) will benefit from such plan.

Last week, PNoy senatorial candidate Sonny Angara also called for the immediate and full development of the CIA citing its wide area for expansion and the congestion of the NAIA.

Two other senatorial bets, UNA’s Jackie Enrile and JV Ejercito also endorsed the CIA.

Earlier, Pimental attended the ground-breaking of the P2-billion Mirada Hotel which is envisioned to be the first ever five star hotel in this freeport and in Pampanga.

Mirada will have a twin six-storey building with six floors each complete with five star amenities.
