SAN JOSE DEL MONTE CITY—Sallymar Natividad had only one dream for his family, a better future.
That’s why he worked so hard to provide for his two children and pregnant wife.
The dream ended last Friday with his death along with three other co-workers in the explosion at Taguig City.
He was 41.
“We still don’t know what to do,” Lilibeth, the 35-year old wife of Natividad, said in Filipino. She is seven months pregnant.
She said that everything went so fast and they cannot believe that her Sallymar is dead.
A driver of Abenson Corp. delivering appliances to be sold at its branches, Natividad only came home once a week. His last was Monday night to spend his day off with his family the following day.
Lilibeth said that everything went normal with her husband and there was no sign of premonition.
Natividad last contacted Lilibeth minutes before he was killed on Friday.
“He texted me if we ate dinner already. He is like that every night, he always sends message to remind us that he is thinking of us,” Lilibeth said.
She said that there were times when her husband’s text messages came in late, and she only read them when she woke up the next day.
With the turn of events, Lilibeth has remained strong, but wonders how her children will make it without their father.
Their eldest child Ivy is 14 and currently enrolled at the San Jose Del Monte National Trade School, while their second child, Hope is 10 and will be in sixth grade at the Bagong Buhay elementary School.
Lilibeth said that Abenson has given them assurance of assistance for the burial of her husband. And they would talk after his interment.
No specific date has been set for the internment, but Lilibeth said it could be on Sunday.
