MARIVELES, Bataan — A mother reported the alleged abduction attempt on her 9-year-old son on the way to school here Thursday noon that was foiled after the alert little boy punched his abductor on the face.

“Hinatak daw sa kamay ang anak ko ngunit nasapak niya at nakatakbo,” the 45-year-old mother from Barangay Cabcaben said.

“Namumutla ang anak ko, ang labi wala ng kulay at humihingal sa takot,” she said.

The mother said her son told her that there were other children inside the van who were crying.

Patricio Aligue, a barber who has a shop adjacent to the alleged site of abduction, said he saw three children, one of them the 9-year-old boy, running on the street.

“May van na dahan-dahang sumusunod sa mga bata. Binuksan ng tao ang pintuan ng van at hinablot ang batang naiwan ngunit sinapok ng bata ang tao sa mukha kaya natanggal ang bonnet nito at nakatakbo ang bata,” the barber said.

Aligue confirmed that there were other children inside the van.

Leonardo Adame, deputy chief barangay tanod in Townsite, said he filed the report of the mother in their blotter.

He said that they immediately responded but the black van was no longer in the vicinity. They looked for stores with CCTV but recorded in the cameras was only a black van going back and forth in the area.

“We conducted 24- hour monitoring kung may nawawalang bata pero walang report na nawawala sa buong Mariveles,” barangay kagawad Edison Taneo said.

Florencio Pagsibigan, barangay peace and order chairman, said this was the first time they had the abduction incident in Townsite.

Senior Supt. Benjamin Silo, Jr., Bataan police director, said he has directed Supt. Crizaldy Conde, Mariveles police chief, to continuously monitor, conduct investigations and gather additional data for possible identification and arrest of suspects.
