Move to Heaven is based on a nonfiction essay “Things Left Behind” written by one of Korea’s former trauma cleaners Kim Sae-byul. The story is told from an honest and unbiased perspective of one of the main characters named Geu-ru who has Asperger’s syndrome, a neurodevelopmental disorder.

“It made me think back on my life and I think this is something that the viewers can also feel. I try to express that message through my acting so I hope that it travels to you and delivers. This will also give you a chance to learn about the trauma cleaners and their jobs on how precious they are,” said Jun-sang.

Through the direction of Kim Sung-ho and written by Yoon Ji-ryun, Move to Heaven presents a heartwarming story of  two ‘trauma cleaners,’ a group of people clearing out the last possessions of the deceased and uncovering stories to deliver the message to their loved ones that they left behind.

“Over the past two years as we were preparing and shooting the series, we were not aware that the world would be in such difficult times. However, I think that the series will bring comfort to many people. I hope this will shed hope and happiness to the viewers,” said director Sung-ho.

Move to Heaven is set to touch the hearts of the viewers on May 14 to be released simultaneously in 190 countries on Netflix.
