CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – At least 81 female local officials, including the daughter of Gov. Lilia “Baby”, were honored at the Capitol yesterday in line with the celebration of women’s month this March.

Pineda and Board Members Trina Dizon and Monina “Monz” Laus presented plaque of recognitions to Lubao Mylene Pineda-Cayabyab and two other women mayors in Pampanga – Annette Balgan of Macabebe and Josefina “Lala” Leoncia of Sasmuan.

Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon received the posthumous award of her mother, the late Board Member Edna David.

Mayor Cayabyab said “it was honor to get the award.” She said “this means more work for her people.”

Three members of the House of Representatives – Gloria Arroyo of the second district, Anna York Bondoc-Sagum of the fourth district and partylist representative Catalina Bagasina – were also given the recognition. But it was only Bagasina who came to the presentation rites in front of the Capitol.

Dizon, for her part, said the recognition was meant “to inspire the women officials to work harder for their respective constituents.”
