ANGELES CITY — The Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita Market here has set a new record, earning a total of ₱126,160 in just two days — the highest sales since the local rollout of the program in April 2024.
Sales reached ₱69,870 on Day 1 and ₱56,290 on Day 2, breaking the previous record of ₱117,000 logged in March.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. thanked the Angeleño community for their continued support, saying the growing success of the monthly Kadiwa Market proves how impactful it is in bringing affordable goods directly to residents while providing sustainable livelihood for local producers.
“Every month, we’re reminded that when we support local and prioritize accessibility, the whole community benefits,” enthused Lazatin. “Maraming salamat sa walang sawang suporta.”
Held at the Angeles City Hall grounds, the Kadiwa Market features stalls run by local farmers and vendors, including members of the Aeta community from Barangay Sapangbato, offering fresh produce and essential goods at lower prices.
A local version of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Kadiwa ng Pangulo initiative through the Department of Agriculture, the Angeles City program is overseen by Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel and chief adviser IC Calaguas, in coordination with the city economic development and investment promotions office led by Irish Bonus-Llego, and the city agriculture office headed by Rea R. Dizon.
From its initial ₱36,000 sales last year to today’s record-breaking ₱126,000, the Kadiwa Market has proven to be a reliable platform for uplifting local livelihoods and providing food security for Angeleños.
