4 July 2022 – To support the Department of Health’s efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the Philippines, Johnson & Johnson (Philippines) Inc. (J&J Philippines) developed and distributed educational materials to help frontline staff respond to queries about the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.
Leading the ceremonial delivery of said informative resources were Department of Health
Undersecretary, MPH CESO III, Myrna Cabotaje, J&J Philippines head of Medical Affairs, Dr. Erwin Benedicto, and J&J Philippines Global Public Health manager, Stephanie M. Lao.
Inter-Agency Task Force consultant, Dr. Paz Corrales and Redscope TWG chairwoman & head of the Red Cross Molecular Laboratory, Dr. Paulyn Jean Buenaflor Rosell-Ubial were also present at the ceremony.
“Vaccine hesitancy is still high in the Philippines. By disseminating relevant information about the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine through our local government units, we hope we can give more Filipinos the confidence to get vaccinated and protect themselves and others from further infection and virus transmission,” said the head of Medical Affairs at J&J Philippines, Dr. Erwin Benedicto.
The distribution of Janssen vaccine educational materials through Department of Health is part of J&J Philippines’ ongoing support to equip vaccine administrators with the right information about the vaccine to effectively communicate about its efficacy, safety, adverse events, handling, and storage to both vaccine administrators and patients.
